Warranty and Returns

Warranty and Returns — UHU-EL

We want the fishing tackle you receive to match its description and be suitable for its intended purpose. If a rod, reel, lure or other item is unsuitable or develops a problem, you can contact UHU-EL about an exchange, return or warranty claim. This policy does not limit any mandatory consumer rights that apply to your purchase.

1. Warranty on fishing tackle

Where a manufacturer or seller provides a warranty period, the applicable details appear on the product page, warranty card or accompanying documents. Warranty periods vary by product and manufacturer. The absence of a separate paper warranty card does not, by itself, remove statutory consumer rights.

Depending on the item and circumstances, warranty claims may concern manufacturing defects in fishing rods, reel mechanisms, fishing electronics or other goods. The cause of a fault may need to be established through an inspection or expert assessment where permitted or required by law.

Examples of potential claims: a reel mechanism failing under normal use; a manufacturing defect in a rod section joint; or an electronic device malfunction not caused by misuse. These examples do not guarantee an outcome without assessing the actual fault.

When a fault may not be covered

A warranty claim may be rejected where it is established, in accordance with applicable law, that the fault resulted from misuse, improper storage or other circumstances for which the seller is not responsible. Examples may include:

  • rod damage caused by impact, a fall or loads exceeding the product's intended limits;
  • corrosion or water damage resulting from use outside the product's stated conditions;
  • normal wear of fishing line, braid, hooks, drag components or other consumables;
  • damage caused by incorrect fitting, connection, maintenance or storage;
  • an alteration or repair that actually caused the reported defect.

Important: a damaged outer box, missing paper warranty card or third-party inspection does not automatically invalidate all statutory rights. Each claim is considered according to the cause of the issue and the law that applies.

2. Exchanges and returns of items without defects

For consumer purchases governed by Ukrainian law, the general rule allows an exchange of an eligible unused non-food item within 14 days, excluding the day of purchase, unless the seller offers a longer period. Distance sales are also subject to specific statutory cancellation rules, including rules relating to receipt of goods. Different mandatory rights may apply for customers in other countries.

Under the Ukrainian rules for exchanging items of satisfactory quality, the item generally must be unused, with its presentation, consumer properties, labels and seals preserved, and the purchase supported by an appropriate receipt. An eligible electronic receipt may also serve as proof of purchase.

If an identical replacement is unavailable, the buyer may be entitled to choose another item with a price adjustment or cancel the purchase and receive a refund, in accordance with the applicable rules. Some products or personalised orders are subject to statutory exceptions, but such exceptions do not automatically apply to all fishing tackle.

Opening packaging to inspect an item does not automatically eliminate a legal right to return it. The reason for return, the condition of the goods and the governing law matter.

3. Faulty products and shipping damage

If you notice a manufacturing fault, contact us with your order number, a description of the problem and, if possible, photographs or a video. Available remedies may include repair, an appropriate price reduction, replacement or a refund, depending on the defect and your statutory rights. A refund or replacement for a major defect is subject to the requirements of the applicable law.

If the package appears damaged on delivery, we recommend inspecting it, documenting visible damage with the carrier and contacting UHU-EL promptly. Not having a carrier damage report does not automatically remove mandatory consumer rights.

4. How to request a return, exchange or warranty service

  1. Contact us through the UHU-EL contact page or at [seller's support email]. Include your order number, product name and reason for contacting us.
  2. Provide photos or a video where useful. Keep your receipt, electronic proof of purchase or other relevant order information.
  3. Ask for confirmation of the return procedure and the current return recipient details before shipping anything.
  4. Pack the item securely and provide the tracking number once it has been sent.
  5. We will review the request after receiving the item and communicate the next steps within the time limits required by applicable law.

Return address: [insert confirmed physical address or carrier branch before publication].
Support email: [insert before publication].

5. Refunds and return shipping costs

Refund timing and method depend on the reason for the return and the law that applies. For qualifying exchanges and contract cancellation under Article 9 of Ukraine's Consumer Protection Law, the refund is due on the day the contract is cancelled or, if that is not possible, within an agreed period of no more than seven days. Separate statutory rules may apply to distance contracts or international consumers.

For an item returned because it is simply unsuitable, responsibility for return shipping depends on applicable law and the terms disclosed before purchase. Where goods are defective or the seller has made an error, shipping expenses are handled according to the relevant statutory rules; they cannot always be assigned to the customer.

6. International returns

UHU-EL offers international shipping to supported destinations. The return route, carrier charges, customs declarations and possible recovery of import charges depend on the country and reason for return. Contact us before sending an international return so that the shipping method and documents can be agreed. Nothing in this policy removes mandatory protections provided by the laws applicable to a particular customer or transaction.

7. Contact and legal information

For warranty and return requests, use the contact form. Applicable rules include Ukraine's consumer-protection legislation and, where relevant, mandatory consumer laws in other jurisdictions.
